Why did you join Red Ventures?
Red Ventures was my first job out of college and I was lucky enough to have a neighbor who worked at the company and put in a good word for me. The interesting part is, I was anxious to land an “entry level marketing” job, and at the time Red Ventures did not have any such position available. They asked me to come in and provide administrative help until something “opened up”. Typically, I would have moved with caution on such an offer, but after a most extraordinary interview process consisting more of mind puzzles and reviews of my college creative writing portfolio than your standard “strengths and weaknesses” questions, I knew I had to get my foot in the door one way or another. Four years later, I am so glad I made that decision!

Why do you like working at Red Ventures?
A number of reasons, but unequivocally the people who work here are my favorite part of coming to work every day. They’re the type of people you feel privileged to work with and learn from, and at the same time you want to go have a beer with after work - and we do.  There is definitely a work hard/play hard mentality here.

What is the most interesting project you have worked on to date at Red Ventures?
The first time I designed a special incentive program for a call center from scratch…from analyzing the current data, forecasting the change, designing the creative, to launching and watching the (luckily) success of the program…it was so exciting to see how my personal efforts had that much of an effect on sales performance.

What part of your personal development while at Red Ventures are you most proud of?
Working not only on marketing, but putting more of a sales cap on, has had a huge impact on growing my business acumen. And on a personal level, has grown my confidence. The first time I was asked to train a group of agents on selling DIRECTV, I felt panicked. I had no idea where to start…now I LOVE it. I feel most invigorated when I’m speaking in front of a group of people and watching the impact of the motivation and education on our numbers.

When is the last time you laughed out loud - really laughed - here at the office?
A sense of humor is critical here, and you have to be able to dish it out as well as take it. I’m usually laughing as I walk in and walk out thanks to teasing and being teased by Faye. I just got a good laugh as I walked into the kitchen to find a picture of two fellow employees dressed in some “flattering” wet suits at our recent trip to go whitewater rafting, posted on the refrigerator. Everyone is quirky and hilarious…I crack up daily.
