At a Glance
The Associate Sub-Editor is an integral part of the editorial team. In this role, you’ll work closely with our writers, editors, and medical reviewers to ensure that our content is grammatically correct, concise, and easy to understand. You will subedit original content targeting consumers, patients, and healthcare providers, develop questions for medical reviewers and writers, and incorporate reviewer comments in a fast-paced environment. You will also be responsible for ensuring that any technical information in our articles is accurate, readable, and useful to the average reader. You will also contribute input to help enhance and optimize information for consumer usability.
As an Associate Sub-Editor, you’ll be part of a record breaking team! We aim to create content that educates, inspires, and — most importantly — connects with people who want to improve their health and well-being. We work hard to create content that not only connects with our users but is also mindful of SEO. The result is content that consistently breaks traffic records!
This is a full-time position.
What You'll Do
- Edit clinical and lifestyle content for style, tone, and flow
- Correct grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors
- Conform content to in-house style, including evolving conscious language guidelines
- Review sources for quality and proper citation format
- Collaborate with editors and medical reviewers to resolve inaccuracies
- Perform quality control on published content
- Provide feedback to editors on quality of work
- Update in-house style guide and documentation
- Contribute to project work as assigned
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, journalism, or related field
- At least 2 years of editorial experience
- Experience with health and wellness/lifestyle content
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Excellent understanding of AP style
- Hawk-like ability to catch errant punctuation and grammatical mistakes
- Astute sense of appropriate voice and tone
- Knack for making content flow
- Love of language
- Interest in trending health and wellness topics
- Strong skills in meeting deadlines and prioritizing workload
- Proficiency with Google Suite and tracked changes in Microsoft Word
- Experience with a content management system

How long is Personal Data retained?
We will retain your data on our secure database for a period of not more than six years.
Where do you keep my personal data?
We will retain a copy of your CV in Greenhouse, and may print this document for use during any interview you are invited to attend. After the interview this copy will be securely disposed of.

Deletion of Data on request
You may contact us at any time to request us to remove personal information about you. We will action any request within an appropriate timeframe, and confirm deletion by email.
How do I know what Information you have retained about me?
You may request access to the information we retain about you. This request should be made in writing and should include the approximate date you registered with us and must be signed by you. Having received a request we will seek to confirm your identity, and will respond to your request by email within 30 days of obtaining proof of identity. Following your request we will either delete or make appropriate changes to your data, as you so wish.
How do we send you information?
Following your request for information we will email you and attach a document in PDF format which will be written in clear, concise and intelligible English.
Transfer of Data
We will not transfer in part or whole any of your personal data to any other party, outside the of Healthline Media, Inc. (and our affiliated businesses). We only transfer data outside of the EEA when Privacy Shield and/or EU Model Clauses have been agreed with our data processors.
