At a Glance

The Business Development Associate on the Integrated Marketing team will be responsible for identifying and curating new strategic partnerships for our Bankrate business. The Business Development Associate will need to demonstrate strong sales, negotiation and closing skills, the ability to sell conceptually to partners, ownership of relationships and projects, be a strong team player and a professional with a proven ability to think creatively/strategically and act tactically/efficiently. The role requires someone who is consistently proactive and entrepreneurial. This fast-paced, dynamic role will be a great fit for someone who is interested in becoming a foundational part of a growing organization within an already thriving vertical.

What You'll Do

  • Identify and develop new relationships into strategic partnerships
  • Ensure relationships with strategic partners are effectively built and maintained to create mutually beneficial value propositions
  • Work closely with and leverage internal stakeholders to ensure all partnerships are appropriately (and efficiently) strategized, scaled, priced, marketed and sold
  • Negotiate and strategize all elements of new or existing partner deals
  • Drive top-line growth and bottom-line profits, all while carefully curating the “right” long-lasting relationships and partnerships
  • Present weekly performance updates
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including marketing, product development, editorial, legal, finance and other core shared services
  • Develop pricing strategies based on various selling-process situations and navigate client conversations around the value of our products
  • Collaborate with editors to create quality commerce-led content across our brands, using data and metrics to inform content ideation and creation including: competitor analysis, marketplace knowledge and internal data

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of business experience in a business development position
  • Persuasive communicator that can gain internal and external buy-in and followership for new ideas and opportunities.
  • Well-developed presentation skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to maintain own work-flow and meet deadlines
  • Experience with in-depth research and problem solving.
  • Ability to think strategically while seeing the execution through end to end
  • Ability to think creatively and approach opportunities outside of the box
  • Ability to adapt in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Works well in a team environment, with ability to structure own work and operate independently when required
  • Must be confident, resilient, and ambitious with a strong sense of urgency and achievement
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, that is incredibly driven, agile and goal oriented with a growth mindset
