Corporate Counsel

Responsibilities

  • Be an integral part of the business teams’ efforts to establish and evaluate existing and potential business relationships, with significant responsibilities for negotiating, preparing, and reviewing partner contracts.
  • Provide management team with day-to-day legal perspective and guidance, as well as risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Serve as legal advisor and active participant in establishing partnerships and facilitating merger, acquisition and divestiture transactions, including due diligence, negotiation and preparation of term sheets and definitive agreements, and assistance with financing documentation and closing process.
  • Assist with a variety of corporate matters including organizational documents, company structure, and management of corporate entities.
  • Assist with management of intellectual property portfolio.
  • Work closely with Chief Compliance Officer on risk assessment and on compliance-related processes and procedures to support the company’s compliance environment and ever-present focus on quality.
  • Address employment related legal issues in conjunction with Human Resources department, including EEOC and worker’s compensation claims.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation and specialized issues as required.

 Candidate Profile

  • 3-8 years of experience working with senior business management in connection with a broad range of legal matters including contracts, intellectual property, marketing, compliance, employment, privacy, M&A, and other transactional activities.  Prior in-house experience a plus.
  • Outstanding negotiating, communication, drafting, and writing skills.
  • Possess a high degree of business savvy, integrity, candor, intellectual curiosity, and self-motivation.
  • Strategic thinking and innovative, creative problem-solving, often in unprecedented cutting-edge scenarios.
  • Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills, with a well-developed sense of humor, fun and adventure.
  • Previous experience operating effectively in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

Human Resources Business Partner

General Summary:

Due to our rapid growth, we are seeking a multi-talented, many-hat wearing HR Business Partner to join our Human Resources team. This role will be responsible for shaping employee experiences and driving business results through helping employees, leaders, and teams to be their best. This HRBP serves as a strategic partner to the business teams by developing, implementing, and executing a multitude of HR services, support, and consultation across a wide variety of HR areas, including career development, performance management, employee relations, leadership coaching, compensation, benefits, and learning and development.

 Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver HR programs, solutions, and support on both the team-wide and individual level for assigned business teams, consisting of approximately 400 employees
  2. Provide a consultative approach for business teams and individual employees that applies HR knowledge, business knowledge, precedence, and terrific intuition to diagnose and provide creative HR solutions that align with the business teams’ and Red Ventures people and operational goals
  3. Provide expertise and one on one employee support in the following areas:  performance management, employee relations, benefits administration, leadership coaching, compensation, learning and development and organizational development.
  4. Implement, maintain the integrity of, and inform change to HR policies and practices through continuous interaction with employees and teams
  5. Provide day to day performance management guidance to managers including, coaching, career development, and disciplinary action
  6. Partner expertly with Talent Management, Learning & Development, Leadership Development, and Recruiting to carry out RV-wide people strategies and programs
  7. Drive key talent processes with business teams including performance review, talent calibrations, talent planning, and leadership development
  8. Lead and participate in projects at the HR-wide and business team level

 What We’re Looking for:

  • 4+ years of overall work experience, preferably in Human Resources.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in an HR Business Partner role directly supporting employees in exempt level roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • Experience and exposure to a variety of HR facets including performance management, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, organization development, employee relations, and learning and development.
  • Experience working with senior leaders in an “influence-without-authority” role working as a trusted advisor.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and often-changing environment: Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize quickly.
  • Strong knowledge and application of federal and state employment laws
  • Analytical skills and the ability to interpret data, identify trends and recommend multiple solutions.
  • Strong team player and ability to function in a matrixed co-leadership environment

Payroll Director
South Charlotte

SUMMARY:


The Payroll Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the payroll function within the HR team, including processing employee payroll and leading a small team. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collect, compile and enter payroll data using Workday software and ensure information is processed accurately and timely.
  • Play a leadership role within the payroll team including training, coaching and staff development.
  • Audit and process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls by established deadlines.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and errors by investigating, collecting and analyzing information
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
  • Recommend new processes to improve performance and efficiencies within the payroll function
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines.
  • Manage the development, testing, and implementation of new or modified system changes to meet shifting requirements; keeps current on human resource/payroll legislation and technologies.
  • Assist with special projects as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in an HR relate field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a payroll leadership role including managing a team.
  • Previous experience using Workday payroll software is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human resources and payroll practices and procedures.
  • Experience evaluating, analyzing, and resolving unique and complex problems, and recommending solutions.
  • Solid understanding of multi-state and federal payroll and employment laws.
  • High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Dedicated attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Positive attitude with a focus on providing awesome internal customer service.
  • Great time management and organization skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with a comfort in working within a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
