Ric Elias
Co-Founder & CEO

Ric Elias is the co-founder and CEO of Red Ventures, a portfolio of digital companies headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. With over 3,000 employees in 10 North American offices, London, and Brazil, RV’s digital platform spans across many industries, including home services, financial services, healthcare, and education. Through its integrated marketplaces, Red Ventures enables consumers to connect seamlessly with brands and services.

Over the last 8 years, Red Ventures has compounded growth at over 30%. In 2010, General Atlantic made a strategic investment in the company, and in 2015 Silver Lake also joined as a shareholder. Ric has cultivated an award- winning and technology-centric company culture, ranking as one of Charlotte’s “Best Places to Work” for ten years in a row.

A native of Puerto Rico, Ric graduated from Boston College and earned his MBA from Harvard Business School. He co-founded Red Ventures in 2000, months before the dot-com bubble burst. The company weathered the storm; by 2007 it was ranked 4th on the Inc. 500 list. Ric’s leadership style has earned him noteworthy recognition; in 2011, he was named an Ernst & Young National Entrepreneur of the Year, and in 2016 he was inducted into the Carolinas Entrepreneur Hall of Fame.

In 2009, Ric survived Flight 1549, also known as the “Miracle on the Hudson,” an event which changed his life and led to his widely viewed TED Talk “3 Things I Learned While My Plane Crashed.” In 2019, he launched a podcast, “3 Things with Ric Elias,” where he shares conversations and insights with top business leaders, athletes, and remarkable guests.

In addition to being deeply committed to his family and Red Ventures, he is passionate about creating economic mobility opportunities for under- served groups who have the motivation and work ethic to succeed. Ric has founded and funded several growing nonprofit organizations including Road to Hire, an on-the-job tech training platform, Golden Door Scholars (GDS), which creates educational and career opportunities for high-performing undocumented students, LifeSports, an after-school athletics and life training program for at-risk youth, and Rebuild Puerto Rico, a nonprofit focused on long-term rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Maria.

Additionally, in 2018 Ric launched Forward787, a $100M social enterprise committed to building digital businesses based in Puerto Rico. The program will train and support hundreds of Puerto Rican professionals, fueling a new economic growth engine on the island.

Dan Feldstein
Co-Founder & CMO

Dan Feldstein is the Chief Marketing Officer and co-founder of Red Ventures. Dan focuses on new marketing, new business incubation and launch, and marketing innovation.

Dan co-founded Red Ventures in 2000, just days before the dot-com bubble burst. The company weathered the storm and by 2007 it was ranked 4th on the Inc. 500 list. That same year, the Charlotte Business Journal honored Dan as a Top 40 Under 40 Award Winner.

Prior to founding Red Ventures, Dan held a variety of general management and senior marketing positions within CUC International (later Cendant). His roles have included general manager of, a joint venture between Microsoft and Cendant, SVP, Marketing, for Cendant's membership group; and general manager of Shoppers Advantage, a $300MM online and catalog retailer.

Dan began his career with the global consulting firm Bain & Company. He received his undergraduate degree from Duke University and is also a graduate of the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.

Mark Brodsky

Mark Brodsky joined the Red Ventures management team in 2003, bringing a wealth of financial and general management experience.

He began his career at General Electric Co. in 1986 and in that capacity met Ric Elias, founder of Red Ventures. After GE, Mark held several executive positions at Merrill International, where he was involved in large-scale industrial project development. From 1999 to 2000, he worked at Arthur D. Little as EVP, Finance & Development, and in 2001 became CEO of ADL spin-off Nuvera Fuel Cells, based in Boston and Milan, Italy.

Mark received his undergraduate degree in accounting from Drexel University and is also a graduate of the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.

In 2009, Mark was named a finalist at the Charlotte Business Journal’s CFO of the Year Awards.

Shannon McFayden
Leadership & People Operations Advisor

Shannon has been with Red Ventures since 2010 as a trusted advisor on leadership effectiveness, talent management and company culture.

Shannon has invested more than 30 years in helping leaders and organizations drive results. Prior to joining Red Ventures, Shannon served as Vice President and Head of Human Resources & Corporate Relations for Wachovia Corporation, the nation’s fourth largest financial institution in 2008 with $764 billion in assets and 120,000 employees globally. She was named one of the “25 Most Powerful Women in Banking” by US Banker.

Shannon graduated cum laude from Davidson College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Tariq Syed
President, Red Ventures Europe

Tariq Syed joined Red Ventures in 2017 and is charged with leading Red Ventures’ growing business in Europe.

Originally from London, Tariq has held numerous executive roles in the media and telecoms industries including at the Antenna Group and NBC Universal. He started his career in mergers and acquisitions at British Telecom and then with Bear Stearns TMT Investment banking team. He holds a BSc in Mathematics and Management Studies from Kings College London and an MBA from IESE Business School. Tariq lives in London with his wife Sara.

Jason Carlock

Jason oversees several digital businesses in the home services industry. Jason joined Red Ventures in 2009, bringing a wealth of marketing and management experience. At Red Ventures, he has held many roles including growing our Telecom vertical from start-up to one of our largest industry groups.

Prior to joining RV, Jason held a number of senior level marketing positions with The Procter & Gamble Company and Newell Rubbermaid. Before he entered the corporate world, he spent three years playing professional golf on several national tours.

Jason received his bachelor’s degree from Davidson College and his MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Outside of Red Ventures he is on the Board of Directors for The Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte, a senior advisor at Davidson College’s Entrepreneurship Initiative, and an annual Little League coach to his four children.

Hallie Cornetta
Executive Vice President, Human Capital

Hallie joined Red Ventures as a marketing coordinator in 2009 and has catapulted to senior leadership after rising through the ranks on the marketing and business side. In 2014, she stepped into the role of CMO for our largest Telco business before becoming Head of Human Capital. In her current role, Hallie leads company-wide talent management and development initiatives and has been a key driver of Red Ventures’ exponential growth and international expansion.

In 2016, Cornetta was the recipient of the Charlotte Business Journal's "Woman in Business" Award, Charlotte Agenda's "30 Under 30" Award, and Elon University’s "Top 10 under 10" which recognizes alumni with significant accomplishments in their organizations and communities in the first decade after graduation.

Hallie graduated from Elon University with a degree in Corporate Communications, Business and Leadership Studies.

John Sutton
Chief Digital Officer

John Sutton joined Red Ventures in 2009 and has overseen some of our most cutting-edge proprietary technologies and digital marketing strategies. In 2018, he played a key role in launching and growing RV's European presence, while also continuing to guide our global digital strategies. Before that, John led the development of our internal accelerator (out of which our healthcare vertical spun out) guided the rapid expansion of our marketing and creative teams, and launched the incubator that developed much of our partner-facing marketing technologies as they exist today.

Before joining Red Ventures, John owned and operated his own Internet marketing consulting firm, worked for a large digital marketing agency in Chicago, and built and sold his own direct-to-consumer business during his time in college.

John attended Indiana University's Kelley School of Business in Bloomington, Indiana and majored in computer information systems with a minor in psychology. John went on to pursue his MBA at IUPUI: Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis. In 2015, he was named a winner of Charlotte Business Journal’s prestigious 40 under 40 award.

Melinda Narciso
Executive Vice President - Human Resources

Melinda has led the Human Resources team at Red Ventures since 2004. She is responsible for developing an effective human resources infrastructure to successfully support Red Ventures' business operations. Her responsibilities encompass all facets of human resources, including employee relations, compensation and benefits, payroll, compliance and HR technologies.

Prior to Red Ventures, Melinda established and led the human resources team at Synapse Technology (now Conclusive Marketing). She also held various HR management roles at Info Systems of NC and Sykes, Inc., where she was responsible for launching the Charlotte customer interaction center to support a strategic relationship with Microsoft.

A native of North Carolina, Melinda graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

George Watkins
Executive Vice President

George joined Red Ventures in 2010 and has launched and led business units in several industries, including telecom, home security and wireless. In his current role, he leads several of our telecom partnerships.

Prior to RV, George was a nuclear-trained Naval Officer. He served onboard a cruiser and an aircraft carrier, where he led his divisions through lengthy deployments to the Persian Gulf.

George has a BS in Economics from Duke University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Steve Sibley

Steve Sibley joined Red Ventures in 2009 and has managed some of the company’s largest and oldest businesses. In his current role, he leads operations across our new and emerging partners and industries.

Earlier in his career, Steve held leadership positions in the Home Improvement Finance, Healthcare Finance and Strategy Services divisions at Capital One Financial Services in Boston, MA, and London, UK. He also held research and consulting positions at StubHub (now owned by eBay) and Corporate Decisions, Inc./Mercer Management Consulting.

Steve received his undergraduate degree in mathematical economics from Brown University and his MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.

Tim Kullick
Chief Operating Officer

Tim Kullick has been a senior leader at RV since 2008 and has led everything from its financial services and insurance lines of business to the company’s entire digital marketing platform. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer.

Prior to joining Red Ventures, Tim owned and operated a chain of home improvement franchises specializing in bathroom remodeling. While taking the business from startup to four locations in five years, he also provided strategy and operations consulting services to several retailers, retail industry vendors and private equity firms with retail industry holdings.

Tim also has held leadership roles in strategic planning, e-commerce and home services at The Home Depot, the world’s largest home improvement retailer. He spent 6 years advising senior leadership of Fortune 500 companies as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company.

Carlos Angrisano
President, Red Ventures Brazil

Carlos joined Red Ventures in 2015 and launched our first-ever international expansion in Brazil, paving the way for continued global growth.

Originally from Sao Paulo - Brazil, Carlos was previously a Partner at McKinsey & Company, working mostly with marketing and sales in consumer-facing and industrial businesses. He holds a BA in Industrial Engineering from University of Sao Paulo and a MBA from Harvard Business School.

Courtney Jeffus

Courtney joined Red Ventures in 2009 and spent time on the business and operations side before moving into marketing, where she was a key driver of the company’s overall digital strategy. She has held a number of leadership roles within Red Ventures, including Chief Marketing Officer of our home services vertical and our credit cards vertical. In her current role, she oversees several digital businesses in the credit cards industry.

Before Red Ventures, Courtney gained experience in the banking world as a Finance Enterprise Associate. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Wake Forest University.

Jeff Hallock

Jeff joined Red Ventures in 2015 as Executive Vice President and is currently the President of RV Health, focused on the pharma, payers and providers space.

Previously, Jeff was Chief Marketing Officer at Sprint where he led advertising, media, brand, promotions, customer acquisition & retention, sponsorships, digital & mobile marketing, product management and

Jeff holds an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Wake Forest University.

John Thomas
Executive Vice President, Data Science

John Thomas joined Red Ventures in 2015 to launch Red Ventures’ data science team and has overseen a dramatic, machine-learning powered transformation of the Red Ventures digital marketing funnel.

Prior to joining Red Ventures, John launched and led data science teams for several Boston-area startups in industries like social media analytics, online advertising, and telecom analytics.

John earned his BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from Gettysburg College and his Masters and PhD in Computer Science at Dartmouth College.  Outside of Red Ventures, he serves as the Data Science Committee Chair of the Analytics & Big Data Society in Charlotte and is a member of the advisory board of the Wake Forest Masters of Business Analytics program.

Sarah Soule

Sarah joined Red Ventures in 2012 and spent time on both the marketing and operations side of the business before moving into leadership roles as General Manager, Executive Vice President, and now President. She’s led a number of businesses at Red Ventures, including several of our largest and most mature partnerships.

Prior to joining Red Ventures, Sarah led marketing teams responsible for customer acquisition, ecommerce strategy, and digital marketing for both E*TRADE Financial and Rosetta Stone.

Sarah holds an MBA from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from James Madison University.

Scott Hamer
Executive Vice President

Scott joined Red Ventures in 2006 and helped launch some of our earliest print, e-mail, display, and digital channels. In 2010 he moved into a General Manager role serving partners in the Small Business, Financial Services, and Telecom industries. Today, Scott leads key partnerships and growth initiatives in our Financial Services vertical.

Prior to joining Red Ventures, Scott worked in healthcare and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from DePauw University. 

Andre Mintz
Executive Vice President | Chief Privacy Officer | Chief Information Security Officer

Andre Mintz joined Red Ventures in 2017 to shape all aspects of our information security strategy and to mitigate data security-related risks. He plays a key role in protecting our partners and ensuring we’ve got a sophisticated framework that’s safe and ready to scale.

Prior to joining Red Ventures, he was CISO and Head of Security and Engineering Operations at Nuance Communications, a leading provider of speech recognition solutions to the telecom, healthcare, and financial services industries. He has also held positions with Leviathan Security as Chief Strategist and SVP of Security Risk Management, and with Microsoft where he was a member of its World-Wide Chief Security Officer’s Council.

Heather Cheney
Executive Vice President, Talent Acquisition

Heather Cheney joined Red Ventures in 2004 as a marketing analyst and helped launch and grow many of RV's early partnerships. In 2013, she moved into the CMO role for RV Power and later moved into a General Manager role for one of our Telco businesses. Currently, Heather leads talent acquisition company-wide.

Prior to joining Red Ventures, Heather held marketing positions at a high-end consumer electronics company, as well as an international marketing agency. She received her bachelor’s in Marketing from Bentley University near Boston, MA.

James LaPlaine
Chief Technology Officer

James LaPlaine joined Red Ventures in 2018 as the company’s Chief Technology Officer.

Prior to joining Red Ventures James was SVP and CIO at AOL, where he was responsible for the company’s overall IT infrastructure, oversaw all consumer-facing applications and advertising services, led the development teams for AOL's consumer identity system & data warehouse/analytics capabilities, and initiated AOL's multi-year initiative to build API-enabled services and refactor applications for public cloud deployment.

Prior to AOL, his previous roles included consulting and service delivery for Perfect Sense Digital, where he filled in as interim CTO at SnagFilms, consulted at Scripps Network Interactive, and led a team of developers replacing Internet Broadcasting’s content management system. At Strategic Technologies, James worked with Fortune 500 companies in the Research Triangle, NC area on operational best practices and systems integration.

He is currently a board member for the Technology Business Management Council, and has served on technical advisory boards for Intel Corporation, Amazon Web Services, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. He is actively involved in youth activities promoting the importance of STEM education and a champion for advancing women and minorities in technology and leadership roles. James is an upstate New York native and holds a computer science degree from State University of New York at Oswego.

Carmen Leyton
Executive Vice President

Carmen joined Red Ventures in 2009 and spent her first few years growing into larger operational roles on some of our largest and most complex home services businesses. In 2014, she helped lead the launch of our first partner in the Financial Services space, growing it into one of Red Ventures’ core, strategic partners.

Before joining Red Ventures, Carmen gained experience in the banking world as a Finance Enterprise Associate. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Elon.

Brian Kelly
CEO, The Points Guy

Brian Kelly is the founder and CEO of The Points Guy (TPG), the preeminent voice when it comes to loyalty programs, credit cards and travel. Kelly launched TPG in 2010 during his time as a Wall Street road warrior, where he developed his keen sense for maximizing travel experiences while minimizing spending. Since then, Kelly has grown the company into a powerhouse travel and lifestyle media platform, and through a team of distinguished editors and freelancers that span the globe, has expanded its editorial content to include flight and hotel reviews, curated travel guides, immersive video reviews, as well as global event activation's. Voted Forbes #1 travel influencer in 2017, Kelly is the industry leader, shaping the way consumers and brands approach travel. Today, TPG has a dedicated fan base, receiving 10 million unique monthly visitors and more than 3 million followers on social media.

An avid believer in using travel as a force for good, Kelly is passionate advocate for causes around the globe, using his platform to create change and supporting organizations close to his heart. As a Committee Member for Rainbow Railroad, he is intimately involved in the organization’s cause to provide transportation for LGTBI individuals flee persecution and seek asylum. He’s also an active Global Ambassador for the PeaceJam organization, where he brings Nobel Peace Prize winners to promote peace and support young leaders in communities all over the world. Kelly is also a Goalkeeper for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, committed to donating 5 million air miles for the Goalkeepers’ Women’s Movement Accelerator, which helps women activists to have their voices heard by decision-makers on important issues. In addition, Kelly is a member of PTTOW, a year-round community of innovative and creative leaders across business, sports, arts, and culture.

Brian Kelly
Marc McCollum
Executive Vice President

Marc joined Red Ventures in 2018. He launched and leads Ignite, the part of RV where we incubate new customer-facing digital businesses and build world class search engine optimization, content marketing and earned media capabilities.

Prior to joining Red Ventures, Marc was a partner at Accenture, leading its Distribution and Marketing consulting practice in the southeast. In this role, he worked directly with CMO’s to build digital marketing and sales programs. Earlier in his Accenture career, Marc worked extensively in Europe and Asia, including three years launching and leading the firm’s Financial Services practice in Indonesia.

In his time in southeast Asia, Marc developed a passion for building digital solutions to address financial inclusion and started an innovation center in Jakarta with this mission.

Marc graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication.

Marc McCollum
Murphy Clark
Executive Vice President

Murphy Clark is the Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and M&A at Red Ventures, a portfolio of growing digital businesses that span multiple industries and help consumers seamlessly connect with the brands or services they need. Murphy joined the Red Ventures management team in November 2018, following 20+ years in investment banking and private equity.

Before joining RV, Murphy held several leadership positions at Wells Fargo Securities’ investment bank and most recently helped run the firm’s middle market financial sponsor coverage and M&A / Equity Private Placements efforts. Prior to joining Wells Fargo Securities in 2005, Murphy spent nearly a decade in private equity focused on growth equity and late stage venture capital investments with TL Ventures, Kitty Hawk Capital, and GE Capital. He began his investment banking career in Silicon Valley with Smith Barney's West Coast Technology group.

Murphy earned a B.A. degree from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Following graduate school, Murphy was selected as a Kauffman Fellow.

Murphy Clark
Brad Slutsky
General Counsel

Brad Slutsky joined Red Ventures in 2019 as the Company’s General Counsel. Brad assists the company with M&A, customer and supplier agreements, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance, and manages our legal department and legal affairs across the U.S., Europe, and Latin America.

Prior to joining Red Ventures, Brad was the General Counsel of FleetCor Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: FLT) – an S&P 500 global provider of payment products and services. Before FleetCor, Brad was the Chief Counsel for three divisions of Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM) as well as the General Counsel of Qualcomm’s mobile payments business. Before Qualcomm, Brad was a partner at King & Spalding – an Am Law and Global top 30 law firm – where he practiced for 18 years. Prior to entering the private practice of law, Brad was a law clerk for Judge Orinda D. Evans in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Brad received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brown University with a B.A. in Business Economics.

When he is not practicing law, Brad enjoys running and computer programming, and aspires to run the Boston Marathon as well as to contribute to Red Ventures’ machine learning algorithms.

Brad Slutsky
Jeff Ross
Executive Vice President

Jeff joined Red Ventures in 2008 as Controller and has since led our Finance, Accounting and Integration teams through multiple acquisitions, equity raises, debt refinancing and an ERP implementation.

Previously, Jeff worked in the sports and entertainment industry as VP of Finance for the Charlotte Hornets, Controller for the San Antonio Spurs, and other roles with Turner Broadcasting and the Florida Marlins.

He earned his BSBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and MBA from the University of Georgia. Jeff currently serves on the Board of Directors and Finance Committee for Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina.
