Digital marketing and sales company to help expand global awareness of growing online technology education platform
Portland, Ore. – Treehouse, an online technology learning platform, today announced that Red Ventures, a leading digital consumer choice platform, has made a strategic investment in Treehouse to support the accelerated growth of the company.
“Red Ventures is the perfect partner to help Treehouse deliver on its mission of being the best online technology school for students around the world,” said Ryan Carson, founder and CEO of Treehouse. “Red Ventures thrives in a fast-paced, technology-driven world, and like us, they see the value in disrupting the educational system by providing non-traditional avenues for continued learning and career development.”
Through its investment, Red Ventures joins The Social+Capital Partnership and Kaplan as a shareholder in the company. Moving forward, Red Ventures will serve an advisory role to Treehouse founder Ryan Carson.
“We believe strongly in Treehouse’s ability to bring affordable technology education to people everywhere,” said Ric Elias, CEO of Red Ventures. “With more than 500,000 unfilled technology jobs across the United States, the demand for passionate, skilled and self-motivated developers and coders far outpaces our higher education system’s ability to graduate students with computer science degrees.”
Red Ventures has used the Treehouse online learning platform for several years as part of ongoing training and professional development programs, including the company’s Code2Hire program, which helps talented, tech-hungry high school graduates break into the fields of web design and development without a college degree.
“It’s essential to our continued growth and success that we remain hyper-focused on employee learning and development – and Treehouse is an important part of that equation,” said Elias.
A Treehouse account costs $25 per month and students can become job-ready within six to 12 months – then the Treehouse Career Team helps place them in a job. Additional elements, including discussion forums, badges and mobile apps enhance the learning experience, while also creating a community among students.
